Bharat Jodo Yatra to have all-Women Walk today, TMC’s Shatrughan Sinha dubs Rahul Gandhi PM contender
The Bharat Jodo Yatra is witnessing an all-women walk today as it passes through BJP-ruled Haryana today. Hailing the yatra, TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha said Rahul Gandhi has emerged as a serious leader as he heads the yatra and has the ability to become Prime Minister.
The Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra is witnessing an all-women walk today in BJP-ruled Haryana, as the Congress party champions its women empowerment agenda.
Congress MP Jothimani posted the update on Twitter on Sunday, which was also shared by her party colleague and the Congress’s communications-in-charge Jairam Ramesh.
“Tomorrow (Monday) is an all-women walk in Bharat Jodo Yatra. One of the most exciting day. Rahul Gandhi is very passionate and committed to women empowerment, looking forward,” wrote Jothimani.
A similar occasion was witnessed on the birth anniversary of former prime minister Indira Gandhi on November 19, when only women walked with Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Yatra that day.
Again in December, on the occasion of Mahila Sashaktikaran Diwas, the Gandhi scion was accompanied by only women during the march.

The Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra witnessed an all-women walk on Monday as the march entered Haryana.
“Women power takes the country forward… Today #BharatJodoYatra she is taking the journey forward by keeping pace with @RahulGandhi ji. Today’s day in Bharat Jodo Yatra is in the name of women power,” the Congress party wrote on Twitter.

Since it kicked off in September last year, the Bharat Jodo Yatra has received backing from various quarters, with many celebrities and Opposition leaders joining the foot march. On Sunday, Trinamool Congress MP Shatrughan Sinha was all praises for the yatra and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
“It is a revolutionary yatra by Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party… Bharat Jodo Yatra will definitely have an impact in the elections,” said Shatrughan Sinha.
The Lok Sabha MP from Asansol noted the Gandhi scion had matured and emerged as a serious leader while leading the months-long foot march.

In the interim, it will also pass through an area in Himachal Pradesh from Mukerian on January 18. The yatris will spend the night in Himachal Pradesh.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra will enter Punjab from Haryana on Tuesday evening through the Shambhu border. The yatra in Punjab will commence from Fatehgarh Sahib on Wednesday and continue in the state for eight days before it is scheduled to reach Jammu and Kashmir on January 19 via Pathankot.
In the interim, it will also pass through an area in Himachal Pradesh from Mukerian on January 18. The yatris will spend the night in Himachal Pradesh. There will be no yatra on January 13, on account of the Lohri festival.
Here is the schedule of the Punjab leg of the Bharat Jodo Yatra:
January 11: Rahul Gandhi will visit Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib at 6 am. A ceremony to hand over the flag will take place at 6.30 am. The yatra will resume from New Dana Mandi, Sirhind at 7 am. After a break, the evening leg will start at 3.30 pm from Khalsa School Ground, Mandi Gobindgarh.
January 12: The yatra will begin from Malhipur near Kashmir Garden at 6 am and end at Samrala Chowk at 12 pm. There will be no yatra in the evening. The entire 25 km stretch will be covered in one go.
January 13: Lohri festival. There will be no yatra.
January 14: The yatra will start from near Ladhowal Toll, Gill Ludhiana at 6 am. The evening leg will begin from Jay Cee Resort, Goraya at 3.30 pm.
January 15: To start from LPU University at 6 am. After break, it will start from BMC Chowk Jalandhar at 3.30 pm.
January 16: The yatra will begin from Kala Bakkra village, near Avtar Regency at 6 am. It will resume from Kharal Kalan village, Adampur at 3.30 pm.
January 17: After starting from Jhingar Khurd, Dasuya at 6 am, the yatra will take a break and resume from Gaunspur, Dasuya at 3.30 pm.
January 18: The yatra will set out from Bhangala, Mukerian from where it will enter Himachal through the toll plaza and remain in the state for a day.
January 19: Rahul Gandhi will address a rally in Pathankot at 12 noon.
